Actor Kamal Haasan, who has left a lasting impression on moviegoers with films in Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Bengali, is all set to entertain his fans once more. The actor – who was last seen on the big screen in the Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed Vikram in 2022, will soon be seen in the much-awaited film Indian 2.

During a recent chat, Kamal shared an update regarding Indian 2 and Indian 3. Read on to know all he shared.

During a recent conversation with The Hindu, Kamal Haasan got candid about the much-awaited Indian sequel and threequel. The actor-filmmaker said, “I can’t make up for the lost time. Also, we cannot speed up production as the quantity doesn’t matter, quality does.” The veteran actor continued, “We have completed Indian 2 and Indian 3. The post-production work of Indian 2 is currently happening. We will start work on Indian 3 post-production after we finish it.”

Kamal Haasan also opened up about his upcoming film with Mani Ratnam, Thug Life. Sharing an update about the film, he said, “The shooting of Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life will start soon after the campaign (election) ends. Also, I’ve done a cameo in a film called Kalki 2898 AD.”

Indian 2 is the sequel to Indian, a 1996 vigilante action film co-written and directed by S. Shankar in 1996. The upcoming sequel sees Haasan reprising his role as Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption. Directed by Shankar, the film also stars SJ Suryah, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, and many more.

On Kamal Haasan’s birthday, the director shared a BTS pictures from the sets wishing the actor. He posted on X, “Wishing our Ulaganayagan ⁦ @ikamalhaasan ⁩ sir a very happy birthday! It is wonderful to have had the chance to work with you again to bring Senapathy back! Hope you keep entertaining us and continue to inspire millions more! #indian2”
